Three More Guests Announced for Whovention 2014

Today we're announcing not one, not two, but THREE more guests for Whovention 2014. Our guest list represents both the classic (1963-1989) and the revived series (2005-now), as well as the Doctor’s other adventures on audio and in books.

Barnaby Edwards is the man inside the Daleks, appearing in thirteen episodes across seven seasons of the revived series, as well as the upcoming anniversary special this November. Barnaby has shaken a sink plunger at three incarnations of the Doctor — Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant and Matt Smith — giving him a unique eyestalk-view of the making of the popular series. Barnaby is also a regular actor, writer and director of the Doctor’s audio adventures from Big Finish, contributing to over 70 adventures featuring another five Doctors.

Lisa Bowerman first appeared as Karra of the Cheetah people in ‘Survival’, the last adventure of the original series in 1989. However, it is another character for whom she is best known. Since 1998, Lisa has given voice (and a face) to the popular companion Bernice (Benny) Summerfield in the Doctor’s audio adventures from Big Finish, as well as directing many releases in the range. With her own successful spin-off audio series, Lisa has been a Doctor Who regular for over fifteen years!

Gary Russell has a Doctor Who resume that covers almost every corner of the Doctor Who universe. Editor of Doctor Who Magazine (1991—1995), author of a number of novels and non-fiction books, and co-creator of Big Finish (where he went on to write and direct over a 100 audio adventures), Gary eventually (inevitably?) found his way to Cardiff and the BBC. There he script edited episodes of Doctor Who, Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures.

These three guests join the previously announced Sarah Sutton on her first convention appearance in Australia. Sarah played the popular companion Nyssa between 1981 and 1983, joining both Tom Baker and Peter Davison in the TARDIS.

Registration is now available, so book now to lock in the early bird prices!
